History

Palakkil Mavilavalappil Kunhathi Amma I was married to Mykeel Raman Nambiar and settled near Marayangalam, Kalliasseri some where in the years between 1865 - 1870. PM Family planted it's roots at Kalliasseri with the arrival of this Grand Lady from Cherukunnu. We believe from the words of our ancestors that Kunhathi Amma I  left behind all her wealth and property back at Cherukunnu before commencing a new life at Kalliasseri. This expedition of life has continued from here with descendants of almost eight generations. And, now the family has ventured out into this wide world to settle at places of their convenience. We can easily say that there are cities in India where we could make a township of P M Family. We must, however, remind ourselves that life of our ancestors were not as easy as we would like to think. The vagaries of life under foreign rule, poverty, contagious disease, negative elements of nature and so on which were common with the general people in those days had made a deep impact on our living condition also. We had to face a lot of hardship in the midst of these crisis. Yet P M Family was able to swim ashore and carry on life to a good future.

We have made an attempt to construct a P M Family Tree beginning with Palakkil Mavilavalappil Kunhathi Amma I who had come over to Kalliasseri from Cherukunnu after Mykeel Raman Nambiar married her. We have mentioned the  names of the members of the next two generations of the family. Meanwhile we request you to go through the data and post your opinion and suggestions for improvement. 5. P M Krishnan Nambiar   - Married Koyyodan Padinhare Veettil Madhavi Amma [Interestingly Madhavi Amma's ancestral origin was at Pallur, Mahe. Madhavi Amma's mother could have moved over to Kanhirode after marriage. Thus Madhavi Amma was better known as Kanhirode Madhavi Amma after coming to Kalliasseri .]

Note: An attempt has been made to construct a Family Tree of P M Family Group. The first generation  begins with P M Kunhathi Amma who, after her marriage to Mykeel Raman Nambiar, migrated from Cherukunnu to Kalliasseri circa 1865. Now we have the 8th generation running as of the year 2022. The family tree construction has been made in excel format.

We have taken utmost care to enter the data as accurate as possible. We have missed out few entries for want of authentic details. I hope family members who read this will help in monitoring the entries and point out any mistakes observed. We hope to have a full fledged family tree shortly.
